Transportation
The county provides transportation services for seniors via Metro-Paracruz.  Phone them at least one day in advance at 425-1558.

The Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz County Transportation also arranges for senior transportation.  They can be reached at 427-3435 (Santa Cruz) or 335-6844 (Felton).  These "volunteers in their cars take seniors to medical appointments, grocery shopping and other essential errands Monday thorough Friday with 4 working-day notice".

To help seniors needing supplies brought from town, or short term meals, or check-on phone calls, or occasional company, please phone the Bonny Doon Ladies Club for help.  Call Barbara Louv at 426-3652.

Jordan House, Inc. is a non-profit organization established by the Christian community of churches in Santa Cruz County for the purpose of providing volunteer in-home care for the terminally ill.  It is committed to honoring the unique needs of each person and maintaining the dignity of those in its care.

The trained volunteers serve persons who have been approved for care by a licensed hospice organization.  That is, Jordan House works with Hospice Care.  The volunteers serve their clients with compassion, respect and competence regardless of the person's race, religion, or socio-economic status.

The idea of establishing a Christian adjunct to Hospice began in May 2004 as an inspiration to Bonny Doon's own Sherry McDermott who serves on the board with several other Bonny Dooners.

Jordan House volunteers have already served many clients and their families with gentle compassion, practical and spiritual support in their homes.  It is their hope to one day open a house where care can be administered to the homeless or those needing round-the-clock help.
