The Bonny Doon Presbyterian Church Arts & Craft Faire will be November 14th at the Bonny Doon School. If you
are interested in being a vendor please call 426-0110 for information ASAP as tables are going fast.

Enter your secret or not-so-secret recipe chili in the 1st Annual Chili Cook Off at this year's Halloween
Festival on Saturday, October 24. Deadline to enter is October 16th. Please call 588-2391 to sign up.
When registering, please leave your name, number, and give a short description of your chili (barring secret
ingredients) and whether it's vegetarian or spicy.
Participants should cook enough to feed 16 people and bring your entry, in a crock pot, to the school by 2:30
pm. The winner of the grand prize will be announced at the end of the evening! Vegetarian recipes encouraged!

Thursday, October 22
1:00 pm: The Ladies of Bonny Doon
Meet at the home of Morgan Rankin. Stephanie Seddens, Superintendent/Principal of Bonny Doon School, will be
the speaker. August saw the club gather at the Beauregard Winery, where Ryan gave a brief history of the
site. Susie Seydel hosted the September meeting.
The club meets the fourth Thursday of most months and is open to all ladies of Bonny Doon. It is a
social and philanthropic group founded in 1942. For information call President Larue Wilton at 425-3558
or Vice-President Barbara Louv at 426-3652.

11:00 am: Volunteer Work Day
Meet by the old Firehouse on Martin Road
We will be installing erosion control measures on some of the Reserve trails. Most of the work will be done
on trails located in Zayante Sands, which are highly erodible when exposed to concentrated water flows.
Please bring a shovel and gloves. Also bring sun protection, water, and a snack for yourself.
Donations are needed to pay for the Camp Ben Lomond crew to do fuel reduction, trail work, fence repair, and
fire safety projects. A donation of $220 will cover a crew of 15 men for a day's work. Want to
donate? Email Val.

Keep up with all the events in Bonny Doon with the Battle Mountain News. Arriving the first of every
month at all 1100 Bonny Doon households, this is the best way to advertise in Bonny Doon. Ads are due
by the 24th of the month for the next month's edition. Rates as of April 2009 are: $20 for up to 12
lines; $50 for 12 lines to a
half-page; and $150 for half- to full-page. Call the publisher, Morgan Rankin, at 426-6412, and deliver

This wonderful book is still available. A "must have" for new and old Dooner's alike. The Ladies
of Bonny Doon Club produced this book in 2004. Many Bonny Dooners contributed stories, pictures, and
