Bonny Doon School Multi-Purpose Room
The planned program for our next general meeting includes a conversation with the County's new Sheriff Phil
Wowak and a panel on the Final Environmental Impact Report on Cemex's Quarry Expansion, including County
Planning Staff, Bill Kocher, Director of Santa Cruz Water, and representatives of Supervisor Neal Coonerty's
office and of Cemex.

Drawing for five prizes worth $100 or more (need not be present to win).
This annual event celebrates the site of the new Felton library, offered to the Santa Cruz Public Libraries
by the Verutti family, as progress continues on efforts to build a modern library for the entire San Lorenzo
Valley. The event is a benefit for Felton Library Friends, a chapter of the Friends of the Santa Cruz

The club meets the fourth Thursday of most months and is open to all ladies of Bonny Doon. It is a
social and philanthropic group founded in 1942. For information call President Larue Wilton at 425-3558

11am Volunteer Work Day
Meet by the old Firehouse on Martin Road
We will be removing invasive, non-native plants, including bull thistles and French broom on the east side of
the reserve. Please bring a black plastic bag, gloves, and a hand pick. Also, bring sun
protection, water, and a snack for yourself.
Donations are needed to pay for the Camp Ben Lomond crew to do fuel reduction, trail work, fence repair, and
fire safety projects. A donation of $220 will cover a crew of 15 men for a day's work. Want to

Keep up with all the events in Bonny Doon with the Battle Mountain News. Arriving the first of every
month at all 1100 Bonny Doon households, this is the best way to advertise in Bonny Doon. Ads are due
by the 24th of the month for the next month's edition. Rates as of April 2009 are: $20 for up to 12
lines; $50 for 12 lines to a
half-page; and $150 for half- to full-page. Call the publisher, Morgan Rankin, at 426-6412, and deliver
your ads to her at 222 Ice Cream Grade.
