Two teen-age boys were touring the Pineridge neighborhood on Friday, February 1, knocking on doors and asking for money.  No one recognized them and they gave different stories to different neighbors as to what they were raising money for.  At one home they asked to be invited in to fill out a form.  We recommend you call the Sheriff at 471-1121 and report them, as their behavior seems very suspicious. ..Thanks

Saturday, February 23 11:00 am Ecological Reserve Volunteer Day Meet by the old Firehouse on Martin Road Weather permitting, we will finish the fence work.  Please bring gloves, food, and water.  Just three hours or so of your time can make a difference. Special thanks to the following folks that helped with fence repair last month: Paul Tutwiler, Miriam Beams, Pat Morrison, Ken Ruddock, and Charlie Powell. Also thanks to Jenny Bear and her friends for helping with trail trimming on the east side of the Reserve. All of our volunteer efforts make it work. Three representatives from Fish & Game also came and helped with fence repair. It was a great team effort. We got about half way through the needed repairs. Spring Nature Walks.  Spring is just around the corner. At this time, the Sandhills wildflowers shine! Are there any local groups that would like to have an informational tour? We usually limit the Saturday hikes to 15 people, so that rare plants growing along the trail are not damaged. Please contact Val Haley at 425-0687, if you would like to become a docent and learn how to lead nature walks at the Reserve in Spring 2008.
