4:00 pm: Boomeria Pipe Organ Concert
The awesome and fun William Visscher will perform on the Boomeria Pipe Organ on Sunday, July 15, at 4:00 PM.
Reception will follow. All are invited and it's free.
Bill will also be performing with Linda Burman-Hall at the Santa Cruz Baroque Festival's fund raiser at Boomeria the
day before.
Bill's Bio:
William Visscher was born in northern New York State. Moving to northeastern Pennsylvania at the age of 8
provided opportunities to start piano studies and a chance to hear a pipe organ in church. Piano lessons soon led
to playing for Army Chapel services which eventually led to organ lessons in high school.
Organ studies continued with Roger Rietberg at Hope College, Holland, Michigan, and later with James Boeringer and
piano study with Georganna Kresel, both at Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove, PA, from where he received his Bachelor
of Music Degree in Music Education.
William has worked in the pipe organ building trade since college graduation and currently works for Hupalo & Repasky
Pipe Organ Builders of San Leandro.
Music making endeavors have chiefly been as a church organist, having had positions at St. Pius X, Selinsgrove, PA, St.
Boniface, Williamsport, PA, Congregational Church, Deerfield, NH, St. Barnabas Church, Eagle Rock, CA, and now at St.
John Episcopal, Capitola, CA.
