Barbara Louv holds a B.S. degree in chemistry, a Master's and several credentials in education.
After working as a chemist, she taught in the public school system for 20 years. During that time she
published a reading program and journal articles. Upon retiring, Barbara organized a remedial program
for a local school, volunteered as an English as a Second Language teacher and is a docent at UCSC's Marine
Center in Santa Cruz, California. Barbara resides in Santa Cruz with her husband, Ted, who is her
computer guru. Her five grandchildren pictured on the cover were an inspiration in writing this book
for young people.
